I'm not sure what to think of Twitter. I have a Myspace, I have a Facebook, but I just feel like this might be going a bit too far. It's like Facebook, only keeping the "status updates" and getting rid of all of the interesting parts. I just don't think anyone can keep up with everyone's constant "tweeting". It's just about one step too far. Although I'll admit that I hesitated to jump on the Myspace and then the Facebook bandwagons, so who knows. I personally feel like Facebook is already a lot to keep up with, serves a wonderful purpose, and is plenty. Twitter is just a bit too much for me.
It was interesting finding out people and organizations that use Twitter. I found Mike Bloomberg's Twitter page, and would love a cross between bits of him, and McCain... and maybe a dash of Obama's popularity and charisma. Starbucks has a Twitter page unsuprisingly, as well as one of my favorite actors and all around funny-guy Rainn Wilson. I saw him speak here in Bend and he is hilarious. I found his mini Twitter conversation with John McCain amusing.

A blog about blogs

I think that having a blog can be very handy for keeping in touch with loved ones, especially if you are traveling or living in a foreign country or doing something else that would keep you from having regular contact with close friends and family. Also, if you are doing something unusual, people other than your close friends and family may find your activities interesting and may enjoy reading your blog. This about.com article points out 10 practicle reasons why people typically start blogs.
